The first Roadmap Meeting on Foot-and-Mouth Disease for the SAARC countries was held in Kathmandu, Nepal on 22-24 November 2011.

During this workshop, the strategy for regional FMD control was drafted. All but Afghanisatan were present. The principles of the Foot-and-Mouth Disease Progressive Control Pathway (PCP-FMD) were used which motivated countries to look across border and envision bilateral and regional cooperation.
