Minutes of the first online meeting of the Special Committee on Biorisk Management was held on 24th November 2018. The EuFMD, at the 42nd General Session of the member states, adopted the resolution to establish the Special Committee, whose functions, until that time, had been part of the tasks of the Special Committee on Research - and before this, of the “”Research Group of the Standing Technical Committee””.

The SCBRM elect their own Chairperson when they meet, so for the first online meeting, Eoin Ryan presided (Chairman of the Standing Technical Committee, STC). For the meeting, the online meeting platform (Adobe Connect) was used, and a recording made and subsequently distributed to all members of the Committee, and observers to the first meeting.
