The “Foot-and-mouth disease Laboratory Preparedness Workshop”, will take place on 27-30 May 2019 in Ohrid, Republic of North Macedonia. The Workshop will be designed and delivered by the EuFMD expert consultants (KK, DP, KT) supported by Component 1.4 of the work program. The experts are to cover:  key characteristics of Foot-and-mouth (FMD) disease, FMD diagnosis and control, key challenges and best practices for laboratory organization during FMD crisis, principles of laboratory biosecurity and minimum standards to ensure an acceptable level of biorisk management in the labs.

The workshop will run during two days, and will be attended by 26 participants from 13 countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo (in the context of the UN Security Council Resolution 1244), Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine.
