The Foot-and-Mouth Disease Simulation Exercise for Georgia and Turkey will take place between 11 and 14 June 2019. The meetings will take place Ardahan, Turkey & Akhalzikhe, Georgia.

The aims of this exercise are to strengthen the capability of the VD at farm, local, regional and national level for FMD and thus for other TADs; support the development of the emergency response preparedness of the country for FMD and other TADs;
and to test the national contingency plan for FMD and the relevant operations manuals. This exercise in Turkey and Georgia comes off the back of other similar exercise that were held in Balkan countries, Thrace Region (Greece, Turkey and Bulgaria) and in Spain and Portugal.
