Online,

As part of the EuFMD workplan, the EuFMD in collaboration with CIRAD are proposing a series of three virtual workshops “National Workshops with 3 Pilot countries” for Tunisia, Egypt and IR of Iran with members of the Veterinary Services and representatives of relevant organisms involved in the livestock production (agricultural ministry, farmer associations, traders).

The information collected during the first and second workshop will be analyzed by CIRAD researchers to elucidate the structure of the production chain and its role in determining the mobility pattern.

The objectives of this virtual workshop are to:

Collection of information on national and international animal mobility and drivers thereof;

Identification of main drivers of animal mobility, modelling and prediction of national and regional animal mobility patterns affecting transboundary animal disease circulation.

Session 2: The objectives of the second virtual workshop are tailored according to the outcomes of the 1st workshop and will therefore focus on the actors’ aspects, and in particular will aim to:

  • Provide a schematic representation of the relations among the actors in the livestock (small ruminants) production chain;
  • Locate the different types of flows previously listed in the production chain (previous workshop);
  • Compare the different production chains across ruminant livestock species.
