17/11/2021 -
Online,

As part of the EuFMD workplan 2019-2023 and following the virtual workshop on "Improving surveillance and early detection of FMD and Similar Transboundary Animal Diseases (FAST) in the Middle East" held in 2020, which aimed to improve surveillance for FAST diseases in high-risk areas through the identification of methodology, prioritization of areas, activities and involvement of stakeholders, we would like to inform you that the EuFMD is organizing a virtual follow-up meeting on Wednesday, 17 November 2021 at 10:00 AM Central European Time (CET).

The meeting aims at assisting Jordan in developing a draft of an integrated surveillance system for FAST diseases based on the surveillance options that were identified during the workshop concerning the objectives and priorities of the country.

The objectives of this meeting are to:

  • discuss surveillance for the FAST diseases in Jordan (objectives, options, and components);
  • identify the potential support from EuFMD to improve surveillance for FAST diseases in Jordan;
  • review the status of the FMD risk-based strategic plan (RBSP) and the possible assistance that might be required to finalize the plan;
  • agree on the proposed upcoming activities for Jordan.
