The European Commission for the Control of Foot-and-Mouth Disease (EuFMD)

Virtual workshop on Risk-Based Surveillance for Morocco

20/12/2021 - 21/12/2021
Online,

The EuFMD has delivered in September a regional workshop for North African countries focused on surveillance systems. In support to REMESA, and with the financial support and collaboration of the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA), the EuFMD, Sciensano and ANSES, would like to propose a follow up workshop for Morocco aimed at continuing improving the surveillance strategies.

This second workshop will be held virtually over two days: 20 and 21 December 2021 in Morocco, according to the needs identified within the region and during country consultations with the veterinary services of Morocco (ONSSA). It will focus on including and implementing surveillance components and activities of the risk-based surveillance system on a specific FAST disease. According to country priorities in the high-risk areas identified, and as part of the EuFMD work programme to support FMD and similar TADs surveillance and control in the European Neighbourhood, the Workshop will be focused on inclusion of Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) within the integrated surveillance system for FAST diseases.

The participants would be official veterinarians working at national, regional and local levels of the veterinary services of Morocco, REMESA subnetworks representatives of REPIVET and RELABSA; experts in risk assessment and risk mapping and Laboratory Representatives.
