The European Commission for the Control of Foot-and-Mouth Disease (EuFMD)

Virtual Workshop on potential public-private partnerships applied to export of live animals and animal products from Sudan and impact on FAST diseases

17/01/2022 -
Online,

Within the current workplan of the European Commission for the Control of Foot-and-Mouth Disease (EuFMD), the EuFMD is involved in providing technical and organizational supports to the countries in European neighborhood by either encouraging initiation of new or enhancing existing public-private partnerships (PPP) to control FMD and similar transboundary animal diseases (referred to as FAST diseases). To pursue the discussions and the three main identified areas of focus for new PPPs from the two meetings, that were held in 2021, the EuFMD is now proposing to organize a specialized virtual workshop on potential public-private partnerships applied to export of live animals and animal products from Sudan and impact on FAST diseases, which will be held on 17 January 2022.

The objectives of the v-workshop are to:

  • provide a reminder/review of the identified challenges and needs for PPPs applied to export of animals and animal products from Sudan;
  • provide a reminder/review of the steps needed to develop PPP proposals and implementation plan;
  • discuss roles and responsibilities and agree on aims, objectives, type of agreement, timeline and implementation.
  • discuss about developing a business plan by either partner and facilitated by the EuFMD;
  • agree on action points and follow up meetings/workshops.
