The online meeting is open to disease control and animal health experts, private veterinarians, livestock production specialists, epidemiologists from private and public sector institutions across the EuFMD MNs and you are welcome to share the meeting info with other colleagues.

The objective of the meeting is to improve the knowledge and capacity for early detection of contingency planners, official veterinarians and animal health experts in the EuFMD Member Nations regarding sheep pox and goat pox (SPGP). The discussion will focus particularly on SPGP recognition and diagnosis.

Topics of the meeting are: 

• Introduction to SPGP global situation, sampling and laboratory diagnosis, experience from experiments. 
• Field observations and lessons learnt from previous SPGP epidemics in South-Eastern Europe. 
• Recent experience with the ongoing SPGP epidemic in Spain - clinical signs and epidemiological specificities.
