Following the 5th Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) roadmap meeting for the Middle East in December 2021, at which Libya was included and recognized as being in stage 1 of the Progressive Control Pathway for FMD, with the requirement to finalize the Risk assessment plan (RAP), the EuFMD is organizing an online workshop on the Development of the FMD Risk Assessment Plan in Libya on 16-17 January, 2023.

The purpose of the workshop is to bring together the FMD task force for planning and agreeing on the activities for developing the RAP based on the gaps identified including the roles of individual members of the FMD task force.

Online Workshop objectives are to: 

• identify knowledge gaps in relation to the 9 outcomes of the Stage 1 Risk Assessment Plan;
• define the outputs/tactics and activities required to achieve those stage 1 outcomes for which gaps have been identified (inclusive of outputs indicators and targets);
• agree on an implementation plan with defined of each party.
