The European Commission for the Control of Foot-and-Mouth Disease (EuFMD)

1st South Asia TADs Coordination Meeting of GF-TADs for Asia and the Pacific

08/05/2023 - 12/05/2023
Paro, Bhutan

To better support more efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable livestock systems the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH; founded as OIE) established the Global Framework for the Progressive Control of TADs (GF-TADs) as a joint coordination mechanism to providing guidance in sustainable longer term TADs prevention, control and, when possible, eradication of TADs.

Regional Roadmap Meetings (RMM) are important tools to promote and encourage progress in PPR and FMD control under the respective GF-TADs Global Strategies, by providing technical support and by allowing countries to share information.

The South Asia TADs Coordination Meeting of the GF-TADs will provide the opportunity to share information on changes in the TADs risks and drivers for ruminant populations (and swine for FMD); assess the progress of PPR, FMD and LSD control; update relevant Regional Roadmaps; and discuss support and recommendations for the implementation of successful control measures.
