The aim of the workshop is to increase capacity of veterinary services on preparation of simulation exercises suitable for the country’s needs, as well as increasing the understanding of their value as part of the emergency preparedness cycle. 

After completing the course, participants will be able to: 

• explain the importance of simulation exercises for improving emergency preparedness, and the purposes for which they can be used; 
• develop an exercise plan based on an identified need and priorities; 
• draft a concept note; 
• draft exercise scenario documents; 
• explain how to conduct a tabletop exercise or drill;  
• plan the evaluation of a tabletop exercise or drill. 

The course will be delivered over four weeks. During this period of time, participants will be expected to complete seven self-directed modules and take part in five live sessions.
