The workshop was organized in collaboration with The Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell'Abruzzo e del Molise "G. Caporale" ("IZSAM").

The training objectives are:

• Strengthen countries' capacity to manage RVF, with a focus on:

1. RVF surveillance (active/passive/entomological);
2. Risk surveillance and identification of risk areas;
3. Control and preparedness options;
4. Link with public health;
5. Integration of the concept of eco-regions linked to animal mobility and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

• Preliminary country action plans to improve RVF awareness, surveillance and preparedness.
