4th GF-TADs West Africa Roadmap Meeting for Foot and Mouth Disease

12/12/2023 - 14/12/2023
Online,

Around 80 countries in the world are currently engaged, at various levels, in the implementation of the PCP-FMD to reduce or eliminate FMD virus (FMDV) circulation. For effective implementation of the Global FMD Control Strategy and to address some of the anticipated challenges, regional FMD roadmap platforms have been successfully established to assess progress in FMD control. To date, three FMD roadmap meetings for the West Africa region have been held (2016, 2019, 2021). This is the 4th Western Africa FMD Roadmap meeting which will take place in virtual format on FAO's VLC platform for West Africa in 2 phases. The first phase (preparatory phase) will start from 15 November while the secondary phase (virtual sessions) will start from Tuesday 12 December to Thursday 14 December 2023.

The scope of the meeting is to encourage countries to progressively control FMD using the Progressive Control Pathway for FMD (PCP-FMD) at country level, with control efforts coordinated at regional level.
