The First Global Working Conference of FAO Representatives (FAORs) will allow participants to engage in an inclusive and meaningful dialogue with the Director-General, as well as the Core Leadership Team and the Senior Management Team, about how the Organization works as one across the globe.

The First Global Working Conference, spanning two days of plenary deliberations and breakout group discussions, followed by a third day dedicated to a field visit near Rome, will center on the main opportunities and challenges facing the Organization at the commencement of the Director-General's second mandate, and will provide substantial spaces for interactive exchange, allowing headquarters to gather feedback and inputs from the FAORs.

The First Global Working Conference is an excellent opportunity for FAORs to voice their ideas and engage in discussions to reinforce FAO's vision of placing countries at the centre of the Organization's work and achieving a greater alignment between headquarters and the Decentralized Offices, a fundamental element for the Organization to work as one across the globe to effectively address complex challenges. By maintaining this synergy, the Organization can leverage its capacities and optimize its capabilities from across regions to reach the objectives outlined in the FAO Strategic Framework 2022-2031, supported by the guiding of the Four Betters (better production, better nutrition, a better environment and a better life).

With the overall objective of contributing to achieve a greater alignment between headquarters and the Decentralized Offices, the focus of the First Global Working Conference is to have a meaningful dialogue on how to make FAO in countries more relevant, better positioned and more fit to deliver on its objectives and programmes.
