La coexistence de formes de production agricole au prisme des politiques publiques : le cas de la Guadeloupe

Coexistence has always been a reality in the French countryside. However recently it becomes an object for researchers. In this article, we focus on the relationship between the two main forms of agricultural production in Guadeloupe: family or peasant agriculture and export agriculture in the CTE implementation process. Here, we question the “sense of innovation”, and more specifically the relationship between innovation, as a constructive process, and the effective coexistence of different agricultural models and therefore actors with different roles and interests. We come back here in the same vein to the various functions of the multiplayer apparatus “CDOA”, about the contracting process through the application of the 1999’ LOA in Guadeloupe, and about the ways of managing the coexistence between different agricultural models that can be used in such a framework. The administration remained the pilot of his process, and did not allow building interactions between the officially advocated agriculture and local farmers, the peasants. She did not allow their coexistence, which nevertheless this LOA seemed to, and even wanted to, authorize. She has merely consolidated the dominant power relations to the detriment of co-developed apparatus.
