Highlights of the month

• New approvals in May: USD 86 million. 

• Largest approved project in May: “Support for critical Desert Locust control operations in Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia and Sudan,” funded by the European Union for USD 9.5 million.

• In total 12 countries have contributed to Unilateral Trust Fund (UTF) projects so far, with an average value of USD 2.7 million.

• The top ten contributors (excluding multilateral funds) have accounted for 70 percent of total voluntary contributions in 2021, while the top 20 resource partners have accounted for 88 percent of total approvals.
