Herbal masala bolus for digestive problems for animals

Oral administration of Herbal masala bolus to work bullocks is a traditional practice in Tamil Nadu in order to overcome anorexia, off feed. SEVA team members administered orally "Herbal Masala Bolus" directly to more than 50 000 animals (cattle, buffaloes, sheep, goats) and indirectly many thousands through trained members over the last two decades. The herbal masala bolus has been prepared and administered to animals in the animal health camps organized in villages as part of our two to ten days training programme to livestock keepers including self-help women group members. SEVA organized animal health camps in many districts of Tamil Nadu and also few places in other states (in Maharashtra, Jarkhand, Kerala we trained Pashu Sakhis or animal health workers and in turn they administered herbal masala bolus to animals).

The benefits of administering herbal masala bolus in livestock (cattle, buffaloes, sheep, goats) are:

  • It is effective for indigestion, anorexia, diarrhea, absence of rumination, impaction, repeat breeding/reproductive problems, internal parasites;
  • it is also used as immunity provider to prevent Foot and Mouth Disease, Blue Tongue, Fever, Mastitis, Hemorrhagic Septicemia.
