The National Rural Development Programme was approved by the European Commission on 26 May 2015. NRDP 2014-2020 (financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural  development) supports the strategic development of rural areas through specific measures for the following strategic goals:

➢Restructuring and increasing the viability of agricultural holdings;

➢Sustainable management of natural resources and fighting climate change;

➢Diversifying economic activities, creating jobs, improving infrastructure and services for the improvement of the quality of life in rural areas.

These goals are compliant with those defined in the national and European strategies, especially with the Strategy for Development of the Agrifood Sector Medium and Long Term 2020-2030, with the Common Agricultural Policy and the Europe 2020 Strategy.
