Reducing input costs for Paddy, Sugarcane, Groundnut, Turmeric and Banana by using herbal pesticides

Herbal pesticide has been prepared based on farmers innovations documented by SEVA in association with Honeybee Network and National Innovation Foundation. The main objective is to disseminate low cost eco-friendly practices which are safe to human, livestock and environment. SEVA has promoted farmers experimentation and validated this practice. Now this practice has been adopted by more than 1 500 farmers in Tamil Nadu over the last 15 years. This practice has the following advantages:

  1. Cost reduction of inputs viz. chemical fertilizer and pesticides.
  2. Safe for human, livestock and environment.
  3. Increased profit from crop cultivation for paddy, groundnut, vegetables, turmeric, sugarcane, banana etc.
  4. Employment and income for the labourers who prepare and sell these organic preparations.
