Charka oven for silk reeling industry
A charka is the simplest mechanism for silk reeling, in which both the cooking and reeling operations are carried out in the same basin. No electricity is required to run the charka. The following technology from FAO’s publication Asia Industrial and Institutional Stove Compendium describes how to use a charka stove for silk reeling.
