Youth-led initiatives in the bioeconomy

Youth leading the way towards a sustainable future

This booklet introduces the bioeconomy topic and its growing relevance also for youth. Global political and economic development agendas are placing more focus on developing and growing the bioeconomy to support the transformation to sustainable bio-based industries. Based on real cases of youth entrepreneurs in the bioeconomy from four different continents, the information product is designed to motivate youth to engage actively in the bioeconomy. It identifies success factors and explains how these factors enabled youth to set up and operate their businesses. The concluding chapter provides some guidance to decision-makers on how this can be supported. An attempt is made to give youth a voice and highlight their recommendations to policymakers.
