Understanding Agricultural Exports
Facts and background information
Bananas from Ecuador, Swiss cheese, French red wine, Argentinian steaks, Kenyan coffee, pepper from Vietnam – much of what we eat has been imported into Germany from other countries. Agricultural imports add variety to our plates. On the other hand the German agricultural sector also exports its products – and in doing so enriches the food on the table in our neighbouring countries. Agricultural trade is an important factor for the economy and prosperity.
