FAO Right to Food Newsletter, July 2021, Issue 10

July came to an end reaching a milestone: the Pre-Summit of the UN Food Systems Summit was held in Rome from 26 to 28 July.
In the same month, this year´s edition of The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World  unveiled that the COVID-19 pandemic has triggered the biggest increase in world hunger for decades.

While witnessing an easing of COVID-19-related restrictions in some countries where the health situation improves, in others the pandemic is gathering steam, highlighting its deeply uneven effects on the poorest and most vulnerable.

Our special guest this issue is Dr. Jehad Al-Fadhel, from the Bahrain Parliament. “Media plays a significant role in raising awareness on food security legislation”, she explained in an interview.
