FAO Right to Food Newsletter, March 2022, Issue 13

As we face up to a third year of the COVID-19 pandemic, we continue to experience a steep rise in hunger and malnutrition, which has deepened poverty and inequality. The escalation of conflict in Ukraine adds another significant challenge. To address humanitarian risks, supporting the most vulnerable, including displaced people, and ensuring purchasing power of local populations is crucial.
2022 opened with a strong acknowledgement of the decisive role of human rights to leave no one behind. Looking into this newsletter issue, our special guests are two professors from the Right to Food Observatory from the School of Nutrition of the University of the Republic of Uruguay.
