This is Simon, community animator and Earth Jurisprudence Practitioner.

Simon shares how indigenous communities in Tharaka, Kenya, have been working to bring their beekeeping traditions back from the brink.

“We are turning the tide on the history of loss in our own lands.”

By working with the bees, attending to their needs, the people of Tharaka have been able to revive their traditional hive building skills and build a more caring relationship with all the beings in their territory.

This is an empowering story of decolonisation at a time of multiple ecological, social and climate crises, and Simon, a native son of Tharaka, has been accompanying them every step of the way.
