Farmers’ Rights

This website has been launched to support the realization of Farmers’ Rights pertaining to seed and crop genetic resources through research-based guidance. This website is designed as a tool for decision makers, practitioners, and others involved in actualizing Farmers’ Rights as outlined in the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (Plant Treaty). It also serves as a valuable information resource for researchers, journalists, and other interested individuals. Hosted by the Fridtjof Nansen Institute, Norway, and funded by the Research Council of Norway, this website builds upon a previous platform that was widely utilized as a gateway to information on Farmers’ Rights, and is now offered as a new global gateway. It features a comprehensive base of literature, encapsulating research on Farmers’ Rights and related issues, with summaries and links to original sources. Visitors can also explore the research projects that underpin this website and access their publications. Additionally, an events calendar is provided to keep users updated on upcoming events related to Farmers’ Rights. Sections of this website will soon be available in Spanish and French.
