From a transition enterprise to a successful story: a Slovenian unit for sorting and packing fruit was modernized with EAFRD financing. This project is the story of an important regional producer, respectively of a company providing one third of the fruit in Slovenia. Placed in the South-East of Slovenia, in an area with tradition in cultivating fruit, Evrosad d.o.o. Krško forms a part of a group of companies specialized in cultivating, sorting, packing and trading fruit. Being founded in 1996, the company aimed to enter a modernization process, in order to provide high quality services compliant with international standards. “Modernizing the center for sorting and packing was absolutely vital in order to keep being competitive and in order to face the pressure on the market in the current economic context, and the non-repayable financing  obtained by means of EAFRD played a crucial part in ensuring the funds needed for the investments proposed”, Boštjan Kozole, the manager of the company stated.
