A two-day FAO workshop starting here today is designed to help circulate the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests with the help of civil society organizations. With institutions from about 20 countries in Europe and Central Asia sending representatives, the event should boost awareness and use of the Guidelines in this part of the world.

The Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests provide a reference and guidance for improving improve the governance of tenure of land, fisheries and forests – with the overarching goal of universal food security. They also support progressive realization of the right to adequate food in the context of national food security.
