AGROMIX | Co-designing methods for sustainable and resilient food systems

The AGROMIX project aims to deliver participatory research to drive the transition to a resilient and efficient land use in Europe. It focuses on practical agroecological solutions for farm and land management and related value chains. Due to the unique social, environmental and economic conditions present across Europe, it is difficult to replicate mixed and agroforestry systems in different locations. In order to achieve the wide-scale implementation of these systems we require new agricultural systems to be designed and existing systems to be developed. In this sense, AGROMIX Work-Package 2 on Systems design and synergies is at the heart of project. Within this WP the participative design approach is developed to design tailor-made systems for specific contexts in Europe. The methodology is developed jointly with 6 pilot projects and tested in other 6. Members of the first six pilot projects located in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy and Germany reunited from the 14th to the 17th of September 2021 in Wädenswill near Zürich (Switzerland) during the third WP2 workshop to learn more how the participative design methodology works and how it can be test in their own sites.
