INNOVATIVE INDIAN PEARL CULTURE (FARMING). Pearl known as moon stone (the second precious gem after Diamond) which is produced by a living organism called mussels. Mussels are available almost in every river, pond, canal of the village. But even today in these scientific world people don’t even know that pearl culture can be done in the mussels available in the village water as when we say Pearl the idea comes of sea only. We grow wheat, rice, cotton, pulses but we don’t even imagine of pearl farming. Pearl fascinates not only the young but even the old ones with its beauty and shine. In India, every year 30 crore rupees pearl is imported from China and Japan whereas all the sources of pearl culture is available in our country. INCOME/POSSIBILITIES FROM PEARL FARMING. 1) Mussels are found almost in every river, pond, canal of the village. We can double our income by doing pearl farming using these mussels as available. 2) Pearl farming can be done with fish farming as an integrated farming which will again increase the bar of our income. 3) Ways for employment. i) Net making. ii) Pond construction. iii) Mussels farming. iv) Handicrafts from the dead mussels. v) Integrated pearl farming Business. vi) Designer Pearl shop or showroom. 4) Today in our country Pearl are imported from foreign countries, although all the sources and possibilities are there in India. Awareness & training is the only necessity everywhere.
