Description:
The Andhra Pradesh Non-Governmental Organizations Federation is a thriving network with 50 NGOs, it is based in Bestawaripeta of Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh, India and further has membership from all districts of Andhra Pradesh.   Our AP-NGOs Federation is a grassroots group of activists working in rural development for over two decades. Its main emphasis is to initiate activities at the grassroots level and to form a strong pressure group for all the grassroots groups to address their problems. It believes that the organization of the marginalized should be actively involved in solving problems with a clear vision, vision and action plan. The initiates committed to this ambition strongly believe that collective action and participation should arise from people in general and from Dalits among Dalits in particular. Strategically it starts with Dalit women at the lowest levels of society. The main objective here is to form a community among the people and federate it into a strong people's organization. Issues like poverty, gender discrimination, social discrimination, PWDS, HIV/AIDS infected and affected, child labor, homelessness, environmental imbalance etc. are the main issues to be addressed by organizing all the marginalized as a strong pressure group. A confederation of all these marginalized and aliens is an organization of like-minded people and an issue-oriented endeavor. Organizing communities around issues to promote critical awareness and skills and savings to reduce reliance on and promote general health standards through education or inclusive activities in systematically building people's organization. The Network   has taken the initiative to create a platform for activists and NGOs in the center of Andhra Pradesh, who are actively involved with a rights-based approach. It has taken the historical aspects of previous networks and limited its members only to the activities for working on rights-based approach with a commitment.  In the process of preparation of conceptual framework some of the organizations could not grasp the theme and hence left the network and some more joined with us after seeing the clarity in it.  With our constant meetings and discussions, the final conceptual draft has emerged.  We arrived to address major issues with specific objectives.  All the short time objectives are means to achieve long term objectives.  The process of evaluation of the conceptual note, workshops and training programs were conducted at all districts level to all the members who strongly believe that the democratic participation of planning, implementation and reflection will strengthen the work of activists.
