Mandat:(a) étudier les problèmes nutritionnels spécifiques que lui soumet la Commission et conseiller celle-ci sur les questions générales relatives à la nutrition ;
(b) élaborer des dispositions générales relatives aux aspects nutritionnels de tous les aliments ;
(c) élaborer des normes, des directives ou textes apparentés pour les aliments diététiques ou de régime en coopération avec d’autres comités,
(d) examiner, amender si nécessaire et approuver les dispositions sur des aspects nutritionnels qu’il est proposé d’inclure dans les normes Codex, directives et textes apparentés.
