World Food Safety Day lessons on foodborne diseases for students in Colombia
In Colombia, students studying food safety at the Fundación Universitaria Agraria commemorated World Food Safety Day over the course of May and June, attending lectures and taking part in a food safety quiz. A video interview was also produced and an information dissemination campaign was deployed through brochures.
The lectures addressed topics around foodborne diseases, with Dr Lina Suzana Perez Mora speaking with Dr Maria Izabel Merino about food safety for health, with Louro Juliano Rincon Chisino MSc on case studies relating to foodborne disease, with Luisa Fernando Forero on surveillance and control, and with Dr Carlos Emilio Cabrera Matjira in a conversation titled “Danger on the menu - major zoonotic foodborne diseases.” All these conversations were streamed live on Facebook.
