The present Ordinance implements the Water Protection Act of 15 May 2003. The aim of the present Ordinance is to protect surface waters and groundwaters against adverse efects thus enabling them to be used sustainably. In particular, the Ordinance regulates: a) the requirements for water quality; b) waste water treatment; c) disposal of sewage sludge. The text consists of 52 articles divided into 11 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Waste water disposal (II); Disposal of sewage sludge (III); Use of fertilizer (IV); Use of plant protection products (V); Requirements for livestock farms (VI); Planning of water protection (VII); Prevention and elimination of other adverse effects on water bodies (VIII); Organization and implementation (IX); Penalties (X); Transitional and final provisions (XI).
