Farm-made feeds
Dry and moist Locally available ingrediants can be used, can be easily prepared, feeds are  available on site. With the use of small equipments/ machinery, pellets  can be prepared which can last longer than moist feeds.  Cost of feed is generally low. Due to low water stability,  leaching of nutrients is high, resulting in poor water quality and poor FCRs.  Uncooked starch not very digestible and may contain anti-nutritional factors. Moist feed (30%), dry feed (10%) For spawn/early fry,the ingrediants are powdered and mixed and broadcasted while for fingerling/ongrower the dough is prepared by hand and given either in feeding trays or feeding bags. Dry pellets are using small machines and are sundried.
Industrially manufactured pellets
Sinking Nutritionaly better than the farm made feed. Starches are  partially cooked, and are more digestible  and water stability is improved and anti-nutritional factors removed. Better FCRs and improved storage life. Higher cost 10% Compressed pellet or steam treated compressed pellet
