Milkfish - Nutritional deficiencies

Little is known about nutrient deficiency symptoms in milkfish. There is a high incidence of morphological abnormalities (mouth and opercular regions) in newly hatched larvae and hatchery-reared fry and juveniles. Despite the enrichment of rotifers and brine shrimp nauplii with HUFA and Vit C the symptoms are mainly ascribed to a Vit C deficiency (Gapasin and Duray, 2001).
