| ABSTRACT |
| This document is the final report of the second session of the Working Party on Aquaculture of the Committee for Inland Fisheries of Africa, held in Harare, Zimbabwe, from 13 to 17 September 1993. The Working Party reviewed the synthesis document on aquaculture development and research in Africa South of Sahara, as well as the Action Programme which was designed to foster aquaculture development through research in the short and medium terms. The Executive Summary of the documentation prepared for the meeting is attached as an appendix to this report. The synthesis report and the Action Plan will be published in the CIFA Technical Paper Series with the National Reports as a Supplement to the Technical Paper. This report and related documentation will be presented to the next session of CIFA and it will also be offered as a contribution to the Strategy for International Fisheries Research (SIFR) for consideration for funding by the donor community participating in it. |
