Summary

Report and conclusions of an international meeting of experts in electrical fishing held in Giźicko (Poland).

Five fishing machines, four of which were portable, producing different currents and using several fishing techniques, were tested to determine their efficiencies, and also fatigue and mortality effects. It was obvious that there were great differences of efficiency between the machines, which were apparent in the first fishing (A efficiency) and the third fishing (B efficiency). In the light of the results, modifications are proposed to improve the experimental method.
