A series of four webinars to focus climate change and food safety

The Standards and Trade Development Facility (STDF) will host a “climate change week” in the way of four webinars on 3 to 6 May 2022 to explore the impact of climate change on the global food system. The four inter-connected webinars will bring together representatives of STDF partners and stakeholders to discuss the challenges of climate change for food safety, animal and plant health, and identify opportunities to respond to emerging risks and facilitate safe trade.

FAO Officers will be among the speakers. FAO Sub-regional Coordinator for the Caribbean Renata Clarke and FAO Food Safety Officer Vittorio Fattori will speak in the session on food safety on 5 May, while Senior Food Safety Officer Markus Lipp serves as the moderator. In the concluding session on 6 May, Lipp will be among the panelists to share key findings and recommendations from the webinars.

STDF is a joint FAO/World Bank Group/World Health Organization /World Organisation for Animal Health /World Trade Organization initiative.
