The Committee on World Food Security (CFS) discuss the four pillars of food security; availability; access; stability; and utilization, and how their policy recommendations can ensure good practices that ensure food security and nutrition for all.

   

 

Forest foods increase food security and nutrition while supporting women’s livelihoods

Many food products including fruits, vegetables and honey can be found in forests and provide significant nutritional value as they are packed with vitamins and minerals. However, many of these products are under-utilized because they are not well-known, and can be difficult to process by the women who are generally responsible for finding these forest foods.
