Project structure

The Regional Project Coordination is based in Yaoundé, Cameroon to allow close collaboration and day-to-day synergy with the project “Mobilization and capacity building for small- and medium-scale enterprises involved in NWFP value chains in Central Africa” implemented in Cameroon and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The team in Yaoundé is directly in charge of delivering the regional focused elements of the project e.g. awareness raising and information dissemination on the Right to Food through the NWFP Experts Working Group of COMIFAC, the latter having its Executive Secretary as well in Yaoundé. Additionally, the Regional Project Coordination provides overall managerial, technical and logistic support to national and local-level implementation of project activities in Gabon, CAR and Congo and liaise with FAO structures and partners on national, regional and international level.

In each country, a National Project Coordinator manages project activities on national and local levels with the direct support and close collaboration with the National Focal Point nominated by the respective counterpart Ministry in the forestry sector. To promote small-scale forest based enterprises and sustainable management of non-wood forest products, up to 2 pilot sites in each country will be chosen.
