Regional forest invasive species networks
FAO has helped establish regional networks* dedicated to the issue of forest pests, primarily forest invasive species, and the forest sector. These networks aim to facilitate the exchange of information and the mobilization of resources, raise regional awareness, and act as a link between and among experts, institutions, networks and other stakeholders concerned with forest invasive species.

Forest Invasive Species Network for Europe and Central Asia (REUFIS)
The mission of the Forest Invasive Species Network for Europe and Central Asia (REUFIS) is to highlight the importance of using existing tools and structures and to exchange and share knowledge and information related to forest invasive species. The inaugural network meeting was held in October 17-19, 2017.
Forest Invasive Species Network for Africa (FISNA)
The Forest Invasive Species Network for Africa (FISNA) coordinates the collation and dissemination of information relating to forest invasive species in sub-Saharan Africa for sustainable forest management and conservation of biodiversity. The Network is open to all countries in sub-Saharan Africa that wish to participate.
Asia-Pacific Forest Invasive Species Network (APFISN)
Established as a response to the immense costs and dangers posed by invasive species to the sustainable management of forests in the Asia-Pacific region, the Asia-Pacific Forest Invasive Species Network (APFISN) is a cooperative alliance of the 33 member countries in the Asia- Pacific Forestry Commission (APFC). The Network focuses on inter-country cooperation that helps to detect, prevent, monitor, eradicate and/or control forest invasive species in the Asia-Pacific region.
Near East Network on Forest Health and Invasive Species (NENFHIS)
The Near East Network on Forest Health and Invasive Species (NENFHIS) is an intergovernmental network between states in the Near East region. Its aim is to enhance, exchange and disseminate information related to forest health and invasive species. Network members collaborate to identify problems and strategize regional prevention and management programmes. The Network facilitates the sharing of expertise within and beyond the region.
