森林对全球约三分之一人口的生计至关重要,其中约40%的发展中地区的农村贫困人口生活在或靠近森林地区。对于依赖森林生存的群体,特别是边缘化和弱势群体而言,这些森林提供了必不可少的食物和营养。
然而,环境、经济、社会和政治因素,以及生态退化和气候变化导致这些社区面临贫困、不稳定和粮食不安全。
为解决这些挑战,通过农业粮食系统转型加强粮食与森林间的联系至关重要。
可持续森林管理可以确保森林继续成为稳定的营养来源,为依赖森林生存的群体提供食品安全,消除贫困,改善生态,同时保护生态系统和自然资源。
社会保护,森林和景观恢复,以及可持续森林价值链发展是实现这一目标的关键战略。政府和森林与农场生产者组织在实施这些战略中发挥着至关重要的作用。
目标
- 介绍有效政策、措施和实践,推动助力粮食安全和营养及减贫的森林解决方案。
- 重点介绍创新方法、实践和工具,赋权依赖森林生存的社区和小规模生产者,使其能获得社会保护、参与森林景观恢复,并融入价值链,以改善粮食安全,减少贫困,增加收入。
