The major developments of the GACSA Strategic Committee (SC) meeting are the endorsement of the report of the ad-hoc finance team, the development of the overall GACSA Program of Work: 2016-2017, the mainstreaming of gender across GACSA and specifically within the Enabling Environment Action Group, and the reconstitution of the Annual Forum Task Team.

The endorsement of ad-hoc finance team report will trigger the restructuring of the facilitation unit to address the current funding reality, as well as developing a financial and funds acquisition strategy for GACSA going forward.

The overall GACSA program of work has been written and then discussed both in person and virtually by the Strategic Committee. This program of work includes the missions of each of the constituent parts of the Alliance, along with a 2016-2017 vision and mission for GACSA.

As gender was highlighted throughout the Annual Forum by participants, the SC has decided to mainstream gender issues across the Alliance, as well as focus on it within the Enabling Environment Action Group.

The Strategic Committee has decided to reconstitute the Annual Forum Task Team and it will be chaired by Marc Sadler. The team had its first meeting immediately after the Strategic Committee.
