Evaluation of FAO's Voluntary Guidelines on Responsible Governance of Tenure as funded by Germany

This video follows the evaluation of the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security (VGGT). The evaluation covered six countries - Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Mongolia, Senegal and Sierra Leone - demonstrating how the programme contributed to the emergence of a common vision on land governance and positively influenced land reform processes. It also triggered changes in mind-set, needed for long-term improvements at country level.

Results have shown that the VGGT – via international principles of land policy – can be translated into concrete actions. The outcomes of the evaluation were used to compile communication materials with a view to informing future interventions and providing illustrative examples of the VGGT at regional and global level.
