FAO in Georgia

Dr. Raimund Jehle

Dr. Raimund Jehle, FAO Representative in Georgia was appointed in January 2016. He is a national of Germany, holds a PhD in Agriculture Economics and an M.A. in Agriculture Economics from the University of Hohenheim, a graduate certificate in Agriculture Economics and International Policy from Washington State University, USA, and a B.A. in Agriculture Science from the University of Bonn, Germany.

Prior to joining FAO he worked as a farmer, held several positions in academia and worked as a consultant for the European Commission in Brussels.

Since joining FAO in 1999 he has served in various positions at FAO HQ in Rome and as of 2007 in the Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia in Hungary inter alia as Deputy Regional Representative and Regional Initiative Coordinator.

Parallel to his position as FAOR in Georgia is also holding the position as Regional Programme Leader in the Regional Office and FAO Representative in Albania, Armenia and Moldova.
