A funding agreement for the four-year Agricultural and Rural Development project was signed by Austrian side, represented by the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria Arad Benkö and FAO Representative in Georgia Raimund Jehle. 

Improved rural policies and strengthened value chains, sustainable management of natural resources and environmentally friendly agricultural practices, along with improved capacities in Georgia’s Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture – are expected to make the country’s agricultural producers more competitive and agricultural production – less damaging for climate change. These are the objective of a new, Euro 2 million project that will be implemented by FAO with funding from the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC).
