FAO offers its expertise to enhance agriculture donor coordination in Georgia

The Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia brought together the representatives of the international community including FAO in Georgia, at the second meeting of the Donor Coordination Council on Agriculture.

Otar Danelia, the Minister of Agriculture presented the progress achieved by the Ministry in the implementation of the Strategy measures in 2015. Minister expressed his appreciations to donors and international organizations for their important contribution and support.

In his speech, Mamuka Meskhi, Assistant FAO Representative in Georgia informed the audience about FAO’s current and planned work and on improving donor coordination and creating the platform of external support for Georgia.

’’We are ready to continue providing the Organization’s experience, technical expertise and resources to enhance the existing donor coordination mechanisms in the sector. Concerted and well coordinated efforts applied by donor community would improve the efficiency of the international aid to the Georgian agriculture,’’ Meskhi said.
