EU and FAO support agro-festival in Kazbegi

09/09/2018

The traditional festival of Kazbegoba was held in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region at the same time as the regional-folk festival Phudzeoba and a farmers’ agro-festival.

The agro-festival was supported by the European Union and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) under the auspices of the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD).

Shalva Kereselidze, the governor of Mtskheta-Mtianeti, visited the event and addressed the attendants.

“The great public festival of Kazbegoba is on-going in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region today. Through this event we have the opportunity to promote Georgian culture, art and Georgian  products on one hand, and to support local farmers on the other,” Kereselidze said.

At the festival, products by 30 Georgian entrepreneurs were presented and an exhibition and sale of works of fine and applied art masters was held. Honorable folklore masters were awarded. A Georgian traditional martial arts show and sports-entertainment activities were also held.

Locals and Georgian and foreign visitors attended the event. A gala concert was held at the end of the day.
